'Process Stage' is a required field for referring users creating a case to refer out on Attorney Share, and a filter field that prospect attorneys can use when browsing cases in the Marketplace. You can use the below descriptions as a point of reference for understanding what those stages mean!
Lead Intake Only – A potential client has submitted an inquiry about their legal issue but no determination has been made on whether the case is viable for representation.
Qualified Lead – A potential client has provided preliminary information, has been assessed by the referring firm and meets the basic criteria for a case, such as jurisdiction, damages, and liability.
Signed Client – The potential client has retained legal services by signing a representation agreement with the referring law firm.
Discovery – Referring attorney has begun formal litigation and parties have exchanged preliminary information, documents, and evidence.
Pre-Litigation – Referring attorney has conducted a thorough legal analysis of the case, gathered supporting evidence, interviewed witnesses, drafted demand letters, and negotiated with opposing parties or insurance companies.
Pending Trial – The case has progressed through pre-trial procedures, and a court date is set. Referring attorney has begun preparing motions, finalizing evidence, deposing key witnesses, and developing trial strategies.
Appeal – This stage involves filing briefs, presenting legal arguments, and possibly undergoing oral arguments before appellate judges.
