Video Transcript:
0:00 I want to take a quick video for you about what it looks like to take on a case from the public Marketplace.
0:12 This is obviously one of the primary use cases for Attorney Share, so I wanted to go over the entire flow of that process.
0:19 Now, one of the most important things to acknowledge about this flow is that it is the only time where we charge our users.
0:25 That is the $299 match fee for taking on a case from the public Marketplace. One of the things we know that is inevitable on the platform is sometimes you will match with a case.
0:35 You will get in touch with a client to review those case materials, and you'll decide for whatever reason that you are not going to move forward with the case.
0:42 We know that will happen, and we want to avoid charging users for cases like that that are on six- for matches like that.
0:48 So we built in a couple of gates to ensure that we don't charge that match fee until you've confirmed that it is a successful match, which just makes it a slightly more complex process to go through that whole flow.
1:00 So that's what I will be walking you through here. First, we'll go through what it looks like to navigate the Marketplace.
1:09 Obviously, this is our sandbox account. So you'll see lots of tests in here, but it will operate the exact same way on your side of things.
1:16 So I first want to go over what these filters look like. I can filter by the process stage, by the state, and by the practice area.
1:26 In this case, I know I have this medical malpractice. An important thing to know about these filters is if I click into a case, and then navigate back to that Marketplace, those filters are still active.
1:38 So, if I go back and I'm looking for other cases, just a reminder that you can clear these filters and add different ones.
1:43 But let's click into the case to go through all the information here. So obviously, I see the case name. In the case description, I do see that there is a data room attached to this case.
1:53 So I also may request access to the documents or to whatever files may be in there. So this goes directly to the referring attorney.
2:01 You can include a little note here and request access. Other things you can do from this case details page is I can send a message directly to the referring attorney.
2:17 So in this chat that populates here about the case, if I back out , I'm seeing everything on the case messages tab rather than in the direct messages tab.
2:27 Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, from this case details page, you can send a proposal. A couple of things to note here.
2:38 You can negotiate the referral fee sharing structure that was presented by the referring attorney. In this case, let's say, I feel perfectly comfortable leaving it at that 33%. And if you are the admin of the firm, you will also see this option to send the proposal on behalf of another attorney within
2:54 your firm. So since you are the admin and you essentially have full visibility into all the attorneys within your firm, you can send proposals on their behalf.
3:02 Case Managers will also see this same option, except it will not be optional. Case managers will have to select an attorney from within the firm.
3:12 But they're sending this proposal on behalf of, say, I understand and go ahead to send my proposal. This is where the flow comes into play about that $299 match fee.
3:26 I send a proposal, and I will be prompted to enter my payment details. We are not charging your card at this time.
3:31 We are simply saving your payment information for later to charge if it is a successful match. I have entered that information, I go to save the card.
3:43 Just again, to be absolutely clear, we are not charging that card on this. We are just saving those details for later.
3:52 Now, when I look into the case, I can see the counterpart attorney. I can still go to send him a case message.
3:57 I can also go and retroactively add a Case Manager to this case if I'd like them to have visibility as well.
4:05 Let's say for the purposes of this demo that my proposal has been accepted. I will get a notification here in my case message that Indiana Jones has accepted the case; this case is matched.
4:25 So I'll see it over here as well. The case is still in my needs action section in that matched subsection because it still needs some action from me, which is to indicate whether or not I signed the client.
4:38 I can do that from this screen or by going into the case profile. Another thing to note once my proposal has been accepted is that I will now see the client contact information.
4:51 So I will be able to get in touch with that client. I also have immediate access to any documents that were in the data room and I have 30 days to reach out to that client and decide if I'm going to sign them or not.
5:03 Let's say that I decide I am going to move forward with this case. This is a successful match. I will mark "Yes, client signed."
5:10 Confirm. And that is the point at which that $299 match fee is charged. The case is now successfully signed in My Referrals tab.
5:24 It will live in my Signed section. From this case details page, I can contact the counterpart attorney. I have all of the contact information from the lead still and I can also go in and retroactively add any case managers that I would like to have visibility into all of these details.
5:39 So that is an overview about what that process looks like to take on a case from the public marketplace. As always, if you have any questions, feel free to email support@attorneyshare.com.
