At the top of your screen, next to your profile picture, you will notice a chat window. This is divided into two separate tabs: Case Messages and Direct Messages. I will explain the difference between the two.
If you have any questions for the referring attorney when viewing a case in the Marketplace, you can send a message to them by selecting the 'Send Message' button on the right side of the case details page. In the chat window, you may see two users—such as Bobby and Anya—which suggests that one of these users is a case manager. If collaborators or case managers are added to an individual case, they will always be part of the conversation to ensure everyone involved has full visibility of the case.
The messages you send in this case-specific conversation will be organized in the Case Messages tab, keeping everything related to that specific matter organized.
If you navigate to the member directory and click on an individual user’s profile, you will be able to send them a direct message. These messages are more general in nature and do not relate to specific cases. They will appear in the Direct Messages tab.
You will also receive an email notification every time you receive a new message, ensuring that you won’t miss anything. If you have Attorney Share open in your browser, you will hear a notification sound and see an icon on the chat bubble, alerting you to an unread message.
As always, if you have any questions, feel free to email support@attorneyshare.com, and we will be happy to assist you.
