So you've matched with a case on Attorney Share - congrats!
Marketplace Case Referrals
When your proposal is accepted for a Marketplace case, two different actions are triggered:
- the lead contact info and referring user contact info will be shared with you in your 'My Referrals' tab under 'All Referrals' > 'Matched,' and
- a timed vetting window kicks in. You have a set number of days (14 for most practice areas, 45 for Med Mal, Class Action, and Lemon Law cases) to get in touch with the client and decide whether or not you will sign them.
Sometime during that vetting period, confirm that you've signed the client by selecting 'Yes, client signed' on the case in the 'Matched' section of your 'My Referrals' page; this will move the case into the 'Signed' section to keep everything organized on your profile and push the $299 match fee payment through.
We understand that, after contacting the lead, you may be unable to move forward with the case! If the case match is unsuccessful, navigate to the case in the 'Matched' section of your 'My Referrals' tab. Selecting 'No, rejected' will ensure that no match fee is charged.
If you do not indicate whether or not you signed the client by the end of the vetting period, you will be charged the match fee, but the case will remain in your 'Matched' section.
Direct/Waterfall Referrals
When you accept a referral that was sent directly to you directly or through a waterfall, you will
- find the lead contact info and referring user contact info will be shared with you in your 'My Referrals' tab under 'All Referrals' > 'Matched,' and
- have a timed vetting window to get in touch with the client and decide whether or not you will sign them (14 days for most practice areas, 45 for Med Mal, Class Action, and Lemon Law cases).
Sometime in that vetting period, confirm that you've signed the client by selecting 'Yes, client signed' on the case in the 'Matched' section of your 'My Referrals' page; this will move the case into the 'Signed' section to keep everything organized on your profile.
We understand that, after contacting the lead, you may be unable to move forward with the case! If the case match is unsuccessful, navigate to the case in the 'Matched' section of your 'My Referrals' tab. Selecting 'No, rejected' will ensure that the case is returned to the referring user so that they may decide what they want to do with the case.
